Frequently Asked Questions
What are your service areas?
Although I like to keep my work to within an hour drive of Eau Claire, I have done work as far west as Bloomington, MN and as far east as Wausau, WI. Generally, I provide services to Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, Rice Lake, Turtle Lake, and more.
What are artisan cabinets?
Artisan cabinets are essentially custom cabinets. I chose the word “artisan” because it feels like a better fit for what I’m actually doing. It more fully encompasses the process of taking a new blank space or an old outdated one and thinking through the possibilities in conjunction with the functional and aesthetic goals of my client and creating something new and unique. Outside of the mechanical hardware, I don’t outsource any part of my projects. I build 100% of each of my projects in my shop myself. So the product that you’re getting is more than just custom. It is the result of years of developing a skill, knowledge of a craft, and execution of an idea. That is really the artisan difference.
What types of projects do you take on?
The work that I do is not limited to the descriptions given or the photo examples on this site. Custom kitchen cabinets, built-in bookcases, and bathroom and laundry room cabinetry are larger projects that may interest individual homeowners who are looking to make an investment into their home. I also provide these types of projects for contractors looking for products like this for the remodels or new construction. Stand-alone furniture such as dining tables, coffee tables, unique shelving/storage options, and lathe-turned objects pique my creative interest in a different way and help round out the scope of the work that I do.
What is the cost of an artisan cabinet?
Following from my interest in working with people who are interested in working with me is understanding that everyone has different resources at their disposal. I approach pricing the same way I approach each of my projects: individually. As long as it doesn’t compromise quality or the long-term functionality of the product, I do my best to accommodate my clients’ budget constraints. Sometimes that requires compromise. Sometimes it simply isn’t possible. But I’ve done this long enough to know that there are almost always options and if those options will allow you to get your project completed in a more economical way, I am more than happy to provide those options.
